I was reading through an article recently, and the abstract of that article is girls and boys can never be best friends. It came as a surprise for me, cause it is something which i cannot agree upon.

According to me girls and boys can be the best of friends, coz first thing a girl and a boy can never have ego clashes, and they respect us more than our female counterparts do. It is more easy for us to share our feelings with them rather than with our friends who are girls. As far as my experience is considered my friends who are guys have also stood by me, when I needed my friends the most....

We all live in a society where we care for feelings of others more than ours. We are all scared of being unique and different so we end up following others in what they do, whether we like it or not.

Most of us including me and you do things just coz we wanna be accepted be others, we may not do it out of free will; but we do it just for the sake of it.

An Interview

This is an interview that I conducted with Deepak Ram of D-Art Productions. The questions were based on D-Art, Photography and Video making.

What would you prefer: being a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond?
   I prefer being a big fish in a big pond.

Do you agree to the statement "There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what you are."
  It's not just me and my camera... It's us and our camera. Whatever we do, it's not just me it's the entire crew. And limitations are relative. What appears good for me may not appeal to others. They may consider it as a limitation sometimes.
I personally believe there is no limitation. If we can imagine we can do it. And what you see through camera is not me. That's my character when I'm acting and my imagination when I'm directing and editing. It doesn't define me completely: just shows my acting or directing skills. How good I'm in it or how bad again it depends.

Is there any particular person or group who has inspired D-Art?
 Myself.
 I always wanted to do something like this. Form a team for this. But was in search of a good team and a situation. Now everything's sort of coming together so just started off.

With more and more people especially youngsters venturing into photography, video making. What would be one piece of advice or suggestion that you would like to give them.
  Don't hide your dreams. Try to achieve it. It may not come out as good as you expected in the first try, but with a mistake you will learn new ways on how to make it better. Don't give up and follow your dreams.
 And as you said with many people coming into this field, try to make your mark among the crowd. Try to stand out, be innovative.
 Innovation is the most important aspect in one's life for any matter. Not only video or photography.

Even now movie making, photography is considered as a taboo in Indian society. What's your say on this?
 I didn't know that it was considered as a taboo. And personally I don't believe in all these. If one has the capability of doing something creative just do it. Don't think too much about these silly taboos.
 Personally these kind of taboos are set by people who are jealous of people who can do creative work. Just because they can't they deny it saying it's a taboo. And I disagree with most of the society stereotypes like can't marry from different religions etc etc.. I am not going too deep into it.
 So what I'm saying is there will always be forces to pull you down, but don't give a damn to it. Do what you love and love what you do. That's all that matters here.

A Question

I too longed for care
I too wished for affection and love
But why was it denied to me?
Is it because I was born as a girl...
Well, it wasn't my fault

Why am I being haunted down
Even before I see the first ray of sunlight
Is it because I was born as a girl?

The only thing I ever asked for was love and care?
But why was it denied to me?
Why am I being considered as a burden and not a human?
Is it because I was born as a girl...

Restriction

Restriction

Equality, liberty, fraternity
Everyone has the right to it
why was it restricted to them?
Is it because they were inferior ?
or is it because they were blacks?

But still why did we restrict it?
is it because they were from a different continent?
or is it because they were not well educated!!!

But still why did we restrict their freedom?
Is it because of the power or glory we have!!
or is it because they were born in a dark continent;
But why did we restrict it?

They too had dreams
They too wanted to be one of the equals;
They too wanted to be one of the first borns;
But still why did we restrict it?

(This was a poem that i wrote in one of my English Classes. The theme of the poem is Harlem Renaissance.)
